As a designated student Senator at the University of Washington, I represent a constituency of around 1000 students in the university’s student governing body. I work with other senators to craft and vote on legislation that makes the campus more safe, sustainable, and a fun place to learn. I am part of the following committees: General Affairs, Campus Affairs, Oversight, and Governance.
At the Artificial Intelligence Explainability and Accountability(AIEA) Lab, UC Santa Cruz, I lead a team of 5-6 fellow researchers in the area of large language model robustness. (See the ‘Publications’ tab for more)
I started and lead Computing for Environmental and Social Advocacy (CESA), an Allen-school affiliated student organization focusing on computer science-based solutions to social and environmental issues.
I helped integrate environmental curriculum into the syllabus and create a structure that connected students, parents, and other stakeholders across 30+ schools in the district. As the only high school student in a leadership position, I worked directly with the superintendent to monitor impact of new environmental policies on the school grounds.
Representing 30+ high schools in the board of the Parent-Teacher-Student Association for promoting student interests to school, local and state administrators and lawmakers, and coordinating actions among parents, students and school chapters. Achievements:
Lobbied the district to replace single-use plastic in school cafeterias
Hosted and moderated candidate forum for SCUSD Board of Trustees election
Worked to bring mental health resources to all students in SCUSD schools
